Color Blog Hop Wednesday -- August 26, 2015

Hi again, it's blog hop Wednesday.  I have to apologize to everyone for my "oops" last week.  I mixed up the colors and posted the ones that should have been this week.  So I did another card with today's colors and hopefully I am back on track.

You should have come to me from Liz's blogsite.  Such a pretty creation!

Our colors again THIS week are some pretty pinks.  They are Blushing Bride, Rose Red, Real Red, also Wisteria Wonder, Blackberry Bliss and Early Espresso.

The new card I did for this week with the colors is this one.  I used the newest Decorative Mask for the stencil effect and distressed a little.  The sentiment is from Watercolor Wings.  Wisteria Wonder is such a pretty color, however, I am always disappointed when I use the ink.  For whatever reason, it seems the ink comes up more dirty gray than pretty lavender.  But I do love those pinks.

Now you should head over to Robbie's blogsite.  She starts our hop, and gets us going with some really great cards and creations.  If you started here then continue with her until you come all the way around.  I think we have a larger group this week.  Most of us are back from vacation.

Have a great day, see you soon.

Color Blog Hop Wednesday -- August 19, 2015

Hi Peeps.  It's blog hop Wednesday.  I almost forgot to add to my blog.  I have the grands visiting and we are having so much fun I have not had a chance to do much blogging.

So here is today's challenge inspiration piece and colors.

 And here is my card.

I need to keep this really short today.  You came from Liz's blogsite and should head to Robbie's blogsite.  I'll be back again soon with another entry.  Hope you all are having a nice week.

Crafty Hugs,
Sandy

Color Blog Hop -- August 12, 2015

Hi Everyone.  Welcome back.  I hope you are having a great week.  We are having some awesome weather for August.  Today it is NOT hot and it is NOT humid.  Very unusual for August.  I love it,

You are here for our color blog hop, and you should have come from Liz's blogsite.  Glad to have Liz back this week.  Her creations are always gorgeous.  Our inspiration piece and colors are below.  Very soft and very pretty.

I kept my card rather simple.  I water colored the flowers from Timeless Love with Blackberry Bliss, Elegant Eggplant and Soft Sky. Blackberry Bliss, in my opinion, is way too dark, but stamp off or use a water saturated brush when painting and you get a softer, lighter, color that I do like.

I used the smaller flower for the inside and the envelope.  Thank you to my good friend Liz for letting me borrow this set.  I may have to get my own or not give hers back!

You should hop on to Robbie's blogsite now to see what she did.  It is more than likely to be something really super.  I love her creations.

Have a great day and see you soon.

Coloring Down the Lines Blog Hop --- August 5, 2015

Welcome back everyone!   It's blog hop Wednesday and we have some soft, pretty colors this week.  They are Rose Red, Blushing Bride, Early Espresso, Crumb Cake and Whisper White.  The inspiration piece, finally, is not food.  So I didn't get hungry this time.  Today is a short hop, since several gals are out, but we still pack a punch!

I was looking through some of my tutorials and found a frosted leaf I did a year or so ago.  I decided I wanted to try it again, this time for a flower.  I don't remember what the technique is called, but it looks frosty or sparkly to me, so I am calling in frosty flower -- ha!   Here is my card:

The way this works is, first you stamp your image in Staz On ink onto a window sheet and let dry.  Then, squeeze a drop of Crystal Effects onto a surface you can wipe up later.  Add a drop of reinker in the color of your choice, or in this case I worked with two colors.  I squeezed two separate drops of Crystal Effects, and in one I mixed one drop of Rose Red and in the other one drop of Blushing bride.  Using a paint brush, paint the image on the side of the window sheet you stamped with Staz On,  Don't worry about perfection when painting, light and dark will look like shading when you turn it over.  Once you finish painting, sprinkle Dazzling Diamonds over the wet Crystal Effects.  Shake off excess.  When you are sure it is very dry, cut out your image and put your card together.  Note, it is important to paint the image and sprinkle Dazzling Diamonds on the side you stamped the Staz On.  Keep everything on one side so that when finished you glue that side down onto your card and there will be no rub off or mess from the glitter.  Use a little more Crystal Effects as your glue.

I hope I have been clear with my instructions.  I remember seeing a video on this but can't remember who did it or what it was called.  Last year the leaves I did were in fall colors, and it was really pretty.  Give it a try.

I believe you came to my blog from Joni's blogsite.  Very pretty creation she has.  Love it.  Now you should head to Robbie's blogsite, where our hop began today.  Have you been watching the gifts and swaps on her blog from Convention?  Great ideas there.

See you soon, and happy crafting
Sandy
