Blog Hop Wednesday -- March 25, 2015

Happy Wednesday friends.  It's time again for our blog hop.  You may have arrived from Liz's blogsite, and when you leave here you should continue on to Robbie's blogsite.

I picked the colors again for this week.  I love black, beige, cream, and all those soft colors, but they aren't the easiest to work with.  These circles reminded me of a recent technique I was working with.  Bokeh, which is a photography term.  I think the crafting world is fast making it a crafting term.  I love the look.  These marshmallows (I think they are marshmallows) made me think of the circles in the technique.  If these aren't marshmallows, someone tell me quick what they are.  I sure don't want my mouth watering over concrete or something gross.

Below are our Stampin'Up! colors.  I used them all and added Whisper White.

The technique is done by sponging color on  Whisper White, then use a stencil to add White Craft ink.  I made a stencil by cutting circles in a window sheet.  I've see some other cards made with hearts, stars, and other shapes.   The wavy cuts on the sides were done with the envelope punch board.  I saw a sample on someone's blog, but I don't remember who did it.  Loved the look so I tried it out here.

Now head over to Robbie's blogsite to see what she did.  Hope you all are having some nice spring weather.  I'm still waiting.  We get teased with a day and then it goes back to winter again.  Ugh!

Sandy

Wednesday Blog Hop -- March 18, 2015

Wow, we have had some nice days recently.  I thought spring had arrived.  However, the forecast starting tomorrow is to go back to freezing.  Where is spring??  Well, you are here today for our Wednesday blog hop, and we have some nice spring colors for you.  You should have arrived from Liz's blogsite.  When I spoke with her the other day she said she was finished.  I bet hers is super nice. (Correction:  I just saw it.  What a beautiful card, and what a beautiful bride!)

Our colors this week are Pistachio Pudding, Pear Pizzaz, Wild Wasabi, Mossy Meadow, Basic Gray and Wisteria Wonder.  All nice spring greens.  And speaking of green, are you wearing o'the green since it is St. Patrick's day on the 17th and the week of St. Patrick?  With my Irish background, not only by marriage but also ancestors, I celebrate all week long.  But no green beer for me.  I don't care for beer.  So what did you do on St. Patrick's Day?

Ok, back to our blog hop and our card.  Here is my creation for this week.  I used the very pretty Irresistibly Yours designer paper from the Sale-a-bration brochure.  I love that resist paper and hope we will have a new supply in the next catalog.  I also used my favorite fern from Butterfly Basics, but I resisted making another butterfly.  I think nearly every card I have done over the past few weeks has had  a butterfly on it.  I just love the butterfly dies.  So here is my creation, I hope you like it.

Now you need to continue to Robbie's blogsite.  As usual, she starts it, but you can go to her and continue all the way back to me and see what everyone has done.  All the gals have tons of talent, and Robbie should have a great one for you today.  I learn lots from that gal.

Have a wonderful St. Patty's week and hopefully warmth is on its way to where you are.

Sandy

Color Challenge -- March 11, 2015

Good day and welcome to another Wednesday color blog hop.  You should have arrived from Liz's blogsite.  This inspiration piece and colors were chosen by Liz.  Very pretty colors that make me think of spring.  After the snow, ice, and floods of last weekend, I am definitely ready for spring.  Our colors this week are Old Olive, Mossy Meadow, Wild Wasabi, Pistachio Pudding, Smoky Slate and Very Vanilla.

This is the card I created using the colors.  I received my order yesterday that contained the very fun vellum paper which you get FREE with a qualifying purchase during Sale-a-bration.  I am loving all the freebies this year.  The vellum is printed, but soft enough that it doesn't become your whole focus.  It is hard to see in a picture, but I used the white Chalk Marker on the back of the vellum to give the flowers a little depth.  By coloring with the marker on the back of the vellum you get a little something extra, without making it your whole focus.  I can't wait to try some more ideas with this paper. And I already hope Stampin'Up! will have something similar in the new catalog for next year.  So, I hope you like what I did with our colors.

Now you should continue the hop by going to Robbie's blogsite.  Robbie starts the hop, but if you began here just continue to her and you can keep on going until you come around again.  The ladies contributing in this hop have some real talent.  Enjoy.

Hope to see you soon.

Sandy

Wednesday Color Challenge -- March 4, 2015

Welcome to another Wednesday Coloring Down the Lines blog hop.  Yikes!  I picked the inspiration piece and colors for this week.  The reason?  I looked at it and said "My word, what do you do with those colors?"  So I challenged myself and others to use red with orange?  2 purples?  And whatever else.

You should have arrived from Liz's blogsite.  I bet she figured it out and has a beautiful creation.  When you finish here you should continue to Robbie's blogsite, and I bet with all the great ideas she has, she will have a gorgeous creation too.

So here is the inspiration piece:

The Stampin'Up! colors
And here is what I did with it.    I shaded the red flowers and shaded the sky and tried to put orange with purple rather than against the red.  I think it worked out ok.

So let's go over to Robbie's blog and see what she did.
