Color Blog Hop - July 30, 2014

Hi Crafters.  It's Blog Hop Wednesday.  We are back with another color challenge.  You should have arrived here by way of Joni's blogsite.  What a nice creation she has for us.

Below is the Seed blogsite inspiration piece and below that you will find the comparable Stampin'Up! colors we were to use in our own creations.  Those colors are Very Vanilla, Crumb Cake, Soft Suede, Basic Black, Pacific Point and Tempting Turquoise.  I used all the colors on my card.

Here is the card I made for our challenge.  I used the soft suede and Crumb Cake cardstock for the base with Very Vanilla.  The squares are Pacific Point and Tempting Turquoise which I colored with markers starting with the darker color and getting light as I got higher on the square in an Ombre effect.  The banner is made using the 2 smallest banner thinlits, and the stamp set is Express Yourself.

I hope you like my card.  Now let's hop on to Liz's blogsite.  Liz has a special creation for you to look at.

Hope to see you again soon.

Sandy

Blog Hop Wednesday -- July 23, 2014

It's blog hop Wednesday.  Glad you are here.  We have most of our Convention goers back, but not all.  You should have arrived by way of Liz's blogsite.  I know she worked hard on her creation, she told me so.  I can't wait to see it.  She and I are going to get together later this week to see what kind of trouble we can get into, so perhaps I'll have a few more entries to post.

So this week we were challenged to work with the following inspiration piece:

And below are the Stampin'Up! comparable colors.

I must have started the card at least 5 times.  It was another week that what I had in my mind just would not go on paper.  This is nothing like what I envisioned when I started.  However, it uses most of the colors in the challenge and those hexagons even look a little like bubbles.

I made my own ribbon with white satin and printed "birthday" on it from my birthday wishes photopolymer set.  The longer this card sits the more the ink spreads.  I am going to take the ribbon off and try something else.  But for now, I hope you like my idea.

Now you should continue on to Robbie's blogsite, where the hop begins each week.  It will take you full circle, or you can continue till you get back where you started.  Robbie was at Convention last week, so I know she is tired, happy, and full of ideas.  Her blog is always a joy to follow, and I bet she has something nice for us today.  So let's go........

Happy Crafting,
Sandy

Wednesday Color Challenge -- Wisteria Wonder

Happy Wednesday, crafters.  There are a lot of gals at the Stampin'Up! Convention this week, so our blog hop number is smaller.  I went last year, but not this year.  I hope they have a grand time!

Our challenge this week has some pretty blues and purples.  Here is the inspiration piece.

Robbie did not give us a comparable chart with Stampin'Up! colors, and I am not sure how to set it up in My Digital Studio, but here are the colors:

Wisteria Wonder
Elegant Eggplant
GardenGreen
Wild Wasabi
Coastal Cabana
Pool Party

I believe I used all of the colors, and it looks like I have done flowers again.  I love Blendabilities and have been playing with them on my flower sets.  On this card I used both Blendabilities and Markers.  I am happy with how rich the blue flowers look, but even the green leaves, done with markers, are pretty too.  Here is my card:

I started by using the Hexagon Hive Thinlet as a stencil.  However, by the time I added the flowers and the sentiment, it is hard to see anything more than a couple sponge blobs.  I like using that thinlet as a stencil and will probably do it again.  The flower arrangement is Sweetbriar Rose, which I really love.  I fussy cut it and popped it on Dimensionals so there would be some depth.  However, you can shadow around the image and get it to look 3-D too.

You should have arrived from Liz's blogsite, where you always find something really  nice.  Liz is a fantastic crafter.  Next you may continue back to the beginning with Robbie's blogsite.  Robbie comes up with some really super creations.  She is at Convention right now.  I am jealous, as I would love to be there too.  I hope she has a fun time and comes back with tons of ideas and a bunch of new stamps and product.

Until next time.............

Sandy

Color Blog Hop Wednesday -- July 9, 2014

I am very sorry to be so late in posting this challenge.  Our power and phones have been out since yesterday -- major storms and straight line winds.  I just arrived in Winchester -- nearest city from home -- and am using someone else's internet access.  I was hoping for power during the night at home, but no such luck.  Next time I guess I need to post and schedule days ahead.  Ok, so you are here to blog hop, and you should have arrived from Joni's blogsite.  After me you will continue to Robbie's blogsite.

I won't hold up progress anymore.....so here goes.  The colors are great, I used markers, but will be glad to get my new Blendabilities to see how much richer the colors might be.  Maybe next time, as my order is coming in on Friday.

This is my interpretation of the colors.  Hmm, should have added a little bird instead of the butterfly and it may have been more in keeping with the above picture.  There was no specific added piece this time, however.

See you next time.

Sandy

Wednesday Color Blog Hop -- July 4th Holiday Celebration

Happy Wednesday everyone.  Are you ready for the Fourth of July celebrations?  We are having a huge community picnic here on our mountain on Saturday.  I and my friend Kathleen are in charge of handling the food and decorating details (the guys get to cut the grass and do the grilling).  Oh boy, we have 90 people coming.  We will be working our heads off for the next several days.

Ok, so, you are here today for the Wednesday color blog hop.  We have some holiday colors for you today.  And our extra this time is to make it in keeping with the holiday celebration.  You should have arrived from Liz's blogsite.  Last I talked to her she was working hard but not finished, so I haven't seen it yet.  But I am sure it is super.

Our colors are from the Seeds website again.  Here is the inspiration piece, and below that is the comparable Stampin'Up! colors that our leader, Robbie, worked up for us.

Stampin'Up Colors:

And below is my creation for this challenge.  Have you seen the June Paper Pumpkin kit?  If you have, then you know where I got my pinwheels.  What a gorgeous, and generous, kit it is.  There are the makings for 24 pinwheels or 24 treat packages, or a combination of both.  Here I did a couple of each.  I plan to do more of the pinwheels for our picnic decorating this weekend. Thank you Stampin'Up! for the perfect June kit.

I used most of the colors in our challenge today, but not all.  I did not want to tone down the red, white and blue too much, but I did throw a little Rose Red and Sahara Sand in there.

I hope you like my decorations.  If you, too, want the opportunity to receive some of these great Paper Pumpkin kits each month, You can link  here  and name me as you demonstrator.  You'll get something really beautiful each month, and everything is in the box except adhesive and scissors.

Now you need to continue to the next blogsite, which is actually back to the beginning to Robbie's blogsite.  I'm sure she has something very pretty, as always.  I'll go along with you because I haven't looked yet.

Until next time....................

Sandy
