Another week has gone by and here we are with another color blog hop. I made several things this week and had every good intention of posting on my blog. I'll have to try better next week. I'll just blame it on the horrendous amount of snow we got over the weekend. I think here it was around 30" although in nearby areas it amounted to upwards from 30" to 40." The plow finally came yesterday and we are out. Remember, I am on a mountain, so we have to wait for all the county roads to be plowed first. We are all set now, and very happy.
If you just came from Liz's blogsite I know you had a treat. She was working on something very pretty. When you finish here, and hopefully you will think what I have is pretty too, you then continue to Robbie's blogsite. Robbie will have something super for you too. I believe we have a full house this week for our hop, which means we have a lot of talent for you to look at today.
Our inspiration piece and colors for today are below:
And here is my card for this challenge:
Below I am showing a comparison between the first part of my card making. The first butterfly was cut from Crumb Cake cardstock, affixed to the label, and pearls added for interest. Then I got an idea (see lightbulb going on.......)
This next butterfly has clear Wink of Stella added. I loooooooove that stuff. The butterfly is so shimmery, in person. So much better than a photo, but you can see it somewhat. Wink of Stella sparkles and shines without all the mess of glitter. I can see that I will be using it a lot. My craftroom is an extension to our bedroom and the carpet there is almost white. Therefore I am very selective about what I use. I positively never, ever, spray, smoosh, use embossing powder or use glitter in my craft room. I either go outside or use the island in the kitchen. Now I can just paint all the shine and not have to worry about it. Thank you Stampin'Up! for bringing this to us. Now if they will just add more colors. I've seen several colors at a specialty stamp store about 100 miles from here, but it would be nice to stay with SU. Is anyone listening?
Enough of my rambling. I hope you like my card, and especially my shiny butterfly. You'll be seeing more of that. Have a great day. Stay warm.
Hugs,
Sandy

Color Blog Hop Wednesday -- January 20, 2015
Today is another freezing, cold, day. And unfortunately we are in for a big snow storm over the weekend. Where I live is in the mountains of West Virginia and the storm is forecast to drop anywhere from 25 to 28 inches of snow. Yikes! Wherever you are, I hope you will be safe, warm, and dry.
Our challenge today includes some of my favorite colors. Subtles, like beiges and whites. They are Whisper White, Sahara Sand, Crumb Cake, Soft Suede and Chocolate Chip. You may have come from Liz's blogsite. She usually does something really pretty with soft colors, so I am anxious to see what she did this week. When you finish here, continue to Robbie's blogsite. Robbie does well regardless the color. I love how she chooses her combinations and the extra touches she always adds.
My card is very simple. It uses the Sale-a-bration FREE stamp set, Sky Is The Limit. I also have purchased Going Global and Going Places designer paper from the Occasions Mini. My intent is to use both the stamp sets and the paper for my scrapbooking of the travel my husband and I do. Back to the card, the dsp on this card is a piece of the Going Places dsp. I stamped the airplane on Very Vanilla, however, then I stamped it again, cut it out and affixed the cut out over the stamped image to give some depth. The sentiment is also from Sky Is The Limit.
This card is masculine, which was my intent. My uncle's 90th birthday is the end of this month, and since he was a pilot in WWII and then a pilot after the war, I think he would like the airplane. I think it looks a little like the crop duster he flew when he was young.
Now continue on to Robbie and come back here soon.

Sandy

Wednesday Color Blog Hop -- January 13, 2016
Well, winter has finally arrived. It is cold outside, dreary, and we have had a fire in the fireplace the past 4 days. I suppose that means we won't see any more 70 degrees in January. Hopefully the ice and snow will stay away for a while longer. How much longer until spring?
It is another Wednesday blog hop today and you should have arrived from Liz's blogsite. I love her creations, and I'm sure she has something pretty today. The other ladies in our group are wonderful designers and I have fun hopping along to take a look at all of them. The colors today are Real Red, Melon Mambo, Whisper White, Basic Gray and Black, These are very easy colors to work with.
Here is our inspiration piece and our colors:
I love designer paper showing music, so I made sure I had music on my card today. And here is the card I created using our challenge colors:
I am enjoying the new stamps in our Occasions catalog, as well as the Sale-a-bration brochure. This stamp set, Botanicals For You, is something quite different from what I already have, and I was anxious to get it and work with it. I like that the stamp can be anything you want, birthday, congratulations, get well, etc. I'm going to use this one for a little gift.
Now you should continue your hopping to Robbie's blogsite. I think she has something special for you today. Let's go take a look......
Happy Crafting,
Sandy

Color Down The Lines Blog Hop -- January 6, 2016
Happy New Year! Looks like most of the "gang's all here" this week. Not everyone, but I'm glad to see Liz and Helen are back. Yay, Helen and Liz. Hope everyone had a nice holiday. You should have arrived here from Liz's blogsite and when you finish looking here you should continue to Robbie's blogsite. I did not get an ahead of time little peek at anyone's entry, so I will be hopping along with you.
Here is our inspiration piece:
and the Stampin'Up! colors:
And then here is my challenge. I have been so anxious to start using my new product, and finally the time has come to put away the holidays and start on new things!!! Have you seen all the fun things in the new Occasions catalog? I love almost everything in the Sale-a-bration freebie brochure. Wow, such a dilemma. If you don't have your catalogs yet, and you don't have a demonstrator, I'd love to be yours. Just contact me at my email address which you will find above right.
Ok, so here is my card. I used the new Grateful Bunch from the Occasions catalog and the coordinating punch. I have tons of flower stamps and always hesitate to buy more. However, this is different. They are more like sunflowers and/or daisies. And that leaf stem is dotted rather than solid. Everything is something I don't have, and so now I do.
I hope you like my entry today. Now I am going to go back to my craft table and work with some more new stamps. Hmmmmmm, which ones? They are all so nice.
See you soon, and happy crafting,
Sandy
