Color Blog Hop Wednesday -- February 24, 2016

Hi everyone.  It's blog hop Wednesday, and you should have come from Liz's blogsite.  First, I apologize that I don't have the appropriate challenge today.  Long story short, everything got in the way, my card's not with me (and I made a nice balloon card, which I will show you another day).  I don't have my car and I'm not even on my own computer right now.  Rather than skipping the hop, I grabbed a recent card from some that are available to me.  It is bright, but that is about all it has in common with the challenge.  My challenge today is to manage to get a card to you.  That, I can do.

So here is my card.

I used the Cuppa stamp set and the coordinating designer paper.  I love the way Stampin'Up! coordinates paper, ink, stamps, dies, everything so that our job is easier.  I also used the coordinating dies.  I love this set.  The other day I made a little teapot for our card candy exchange.  The sample card for that is not available to me either.  As soon as I get my computer back, my car back, my supplies back, and my camera, I will be much happier.  Next week I'll be back with the real challenge.  In the meantime, have a nice week.

You should continue to Robbie's blogsite now.

Happy Crafting,
Sandy

Color Blog Hop Wednesday -- February 17, 2016

I'm going to make this quick this week.  My internet connection has been coming up and going down over the past 36 hours.  Must be all that winter ice.  So, before I lose connection again....welcome to another blog hop.  Liz's blogsite should have come before me and when you leave here you should continue to Robbie's blogsite.

Our inspiration and colors are below.

Here is my card.  I used one of the new stamp sets in the Occasions catalog called Birthday Blooms, as well as adding some of that beautiful Wink of Stella to my flower.  I am loving that Wink of Stella.  The fold is called pleated skirt fold.  I saw it on Becky Roberts' site but I am not sure if it is something she thought up, or if it came from another site before her.  I thought it was cute and plan to try it again with more vibrant colors.

I hope you like my card, and now I am going to publish it before I lose connection again.  Come back soon and have a great week.

Sandy

Color Blog Hop Wednesday -- February 10, 2016

Welcome to Blog Hop Wednesday.  We had another snowy day today, but far less than last time.  Just a dusting, but it sure is cold.  I hope you are warm, wherever you are.

This week we have a snowy scene as our inspiration piece.  It looks a little like the countryside around our area.  Of course I have mountains all around me, but there are some flat areas.  But the inspiration piece is very pretty, and I like the soft colors.

 Here are our colors:
And this is the card I made for this week.  I love the airplane from Sky is the Limit and I am sorry it will retire so soon.  If you don't have yours, you better hurry to get it.  There are only a couple days until the 15th when it will retire.   It really is a great set for guy cards.  I have another guy birthday this month, so here it is one more time.  I may use it a time or two again even after it retires.

You should have come to my blog by way of Liz's blogsite, and now continue to Robbie's blogsite and then around to see what everyone has today.

Be sure to come back again soon.  In the meantime, stay warm and safe.

Hugs,
Sandy

Light House Window

I would like to share with you today a beautiful card I received from my good friend, Meg.  Meg is a fantastic photographer.  She has some amazing pictures she has taken everywhere from her back yard to parks and beaches and, well, everywhere.  She takes the best flowers, birds, and various sights.  Then she takes those photos and mounts them on card fronts, embellishes with something that coordinates, and ends up with very pretty and unique cards.

Below is a card I just received from her.  I love how she has taken the Stampin'Up! window frame from Hearth & Home Thinlits (in the Occasions Catalog) and placed it on top of one of her photos.  Showing that super light house through the window makes me want to go to a Southern beach, especially since it is below freezing here right now.  She added a little starfish and the dots embossing folder and wow, what a super card.  I love it.  Thank you so much, Meg.  This is a keeper, for sure.

Thank you for visiting me today.  Hope to see you again soon.

Have a good day,
Sandy

Color Blog Hop -- Wednesday February 3, 2016

Welcome back for another blog hop Wednesday.  I believe you have arrived from Helen's blogsite.  I follow Helen this week, which is just a little different.  I guess we have to shake it up a little now and then to keep everyone on their toes.  Helen is so talented.  I am sure you had a treat.  When you leave me you will move along to Liz's blogsite.  Liz's creations also are super.

This week our colors and inspiration piece are below:

I think these colors look rather masculine, so I decided to do a masculine card.  I have two guy birthdays this month.  I think I will be able to use this card for one of them.  I've been wanting to ink up my new Going Global stamps and this was the perfect time to do so.

Remember last week I told you I love the Wink of Stella?  And that I would be using it a lot in the future?  I used it again by coloring over the countries on the map with the clear WOS.  Once again, a photo does not do the WOS justice.  In person when you move the card front to open and close, you see the shine on the globe.  I love it.  If you don't have that terrific glitter marker, you need to get it quick.

You should continue now to Liz's site and have a great hop.  See you next time.

Sandy
